Tyre wear on lowered C Class

If anyone can help me...

I've recently bought a Merc C Class '97 and I was thinking about lowering it 40mm. Would this add to any tyre wear or would it stay the same??
Also, would the setup of the car need to change?

If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated

Lowered suspension on a C class

I suppose the answer depends upon how you go about lowering the suspension and why.

I drive a C230K which has the Sports Pack fitted by Mercedes including lowered suspension. I can see no obvious reason why, if you take the same degree of care, you shouldn't be able to lower the suspension of your unnamed C class.

I imagine your reason is for improving roadholding & handling but if you do the conversion badly you will adversely affect other Mercedes qualities such as ride and noise suppression.

I would seek professional advice. There are members in this forum who can offer that expert advice but they will require more detail than you have given. For example, what C class have you in mind and what is your budget.

No adverse type wear

In case it isn't obvious from my reply (above), lowering the suspension ought not adversely impact on tyre wear, if done correctly.

Really as Phil above,,if you look at the link there is a difference of 20mmin the height of the shims that are an easy way to reduce the height
