I tried it once.

Don't ever do it. It cost me a fortune to find out that one of the front ones had been in a prang and was mis-shapen.

Don't ever do it. Save your money and always buy new from a reputable dealer.

Please take that as a warning.

Are we talking new or used.

Most tyre outfits will fit and balance for £10

I love Ebay!
Tyres should be fine, but as has already been mentioned NEW not used and factor in shipping !

One idea that i often use is to sort by distance first, you never know you may find a supplier within a couple of miles of you then you could just pop in and pick them up:D:D

Did quite a search yesterday as I'm in the process of buying new wheels for the c270 - found blackcircles.co.uk was the cheapest site and has local fitting too. Other site worth a look is camskill.com. As a friend is the manager of ATS not too far away I'm planning to use the research to prod him on price!

The other interesting thing was opinions on this and the mbclub forum about different tyres for your vehicle - I found lots of info about different makes / types, including one that said exactly what I'm after for our relaxed long distance cruiser.
