Unable to identify problem with CLK roof motor

Hello everyone - new to this forum hope someone can help or point me in the right direction.

I own a 99 'T' plate CLK 320 convertible with a roof that refuses to now open. Have had advice to change the motor at a cost of £1300 by mercedes. Any ideas what could be the problem, best place to get the problem diagnosed and where to buy second hand replacement parts?

I also have an issue with the rear headrests remaining up - do you think the problem is related???

The problem is related I suspect.

The pumps do fail but not often. Where do you live so we can direct you to a independent.

The roof will not operate with the rests up, get them sorted 1st.
