Hi all,

I owned a rather shody W123 estate last year which had rather scary handling at 70ish mph due to very soggy suspension. I was assured on this forum that it was a fault with my car and not the design. I'm now thinking about buying a W124, but I'm worried after my previous experience about the handling.

Is there anybody on the Isle of Wight who might be persuaded to let me have a brief test drive of their's to see how it feels?

What are your experiences of these two models??

I have a 1988 230TE w124, 200,000 miles on the clock and I think it drives better than the other 3 mercs, one of which is a CL500!!!!

The Multivalve diesel 606 engine arrived in the W124 in 1993. They are all post-facelift cars. You'll find them in the estate (as a 300) till 1996 and the saloon (as a 250 only, I think) till 1995

Was an E300TD, now a Lexus LS400
They're designed to cruise at uber-max speeds on the autobahns, so worry not.
