Not driven an E63S (or E63 for that matter), lovely machine, but I would imagine the speedcam data is vital. The E350 is astonishing compared to anything I've had before so yours must be a lot of fun.

dealers seem either ignorant or like to rip people off,

if your car's map updates are of the PIN variety, the discs are basically worthless / easy / cheap to obtain. you pay the big money for the PIN. but some dealers are ripping you off charging the 99 for the 15 quid CDs and again for the PIN

two have posted here the 99 update comes out at circa 250 but I suspect they were misinformed or ripped of by incompetent dealer (or had part labour charge [as done by the dealer whilst in the workshop] and or head unit software updates at the same time)

you need to be careful about your traffic updates. they are moving from free / lifetime traffic to annual rip off - just want you to be aware of the avenue the update may take you

I contacted my local dealer and they quoted £99 and did not mention the PIN cost. I bought the vehicle in May just after the expiry of what should have been 3 years of free map updates and the installed version is 2014/2015 which I presume was the factory installed version which the previous owner did not update. I will try to negotiate with MB on the basis that they didn't do the 3 years free updates so in principle are not out of pocket by doing them now for me...will let you know. I contacted CommandOnline and they quoted me around £200+ for the update and PIN. I've already paid for live traffic updates for 3 years so would like to have the maps too. Also find that lots of postcodes are missing, areas unmapped on the current version and so trying to find dial in a postcode that wont accept more that 4 digits is a pain I would like to fix. I found using Google maps on my phone in my old Merc was brilliant and better at traffic and route planning but very reluctant to stick my phone on the dash of the new one.... especially after installing live traffic updates. When I compare predicted travel times Google is much more accurate that the installed Tom Tom and better at rerouting around problems.....guess I'll have to live with that

Previous car was an S63 coupe and this just blows that out of the water. 4WD is a massive advantage. Frankly it's just stupid fast.
Though I do miss the car leaning the opposite way on tight corners; that was really 'trick'

If you get the update sorted and want a speed cam overlay (and have NTG 5.5) then I bought a speedcam update from commandonline which doesnt work for me (no POI imports allowed on my version) and you are welcome to have the download and access code for free (by email). Let me know.

I think there might be an error here as we (Comand Online) don't nor have ever, offered speed camera information.
