E220 se cdi 2014 w212 2.2l
General question guys I have a 2014 Mercedes E220 se cdi w212 and was curious to know if I could upgrade the brakes to Brembo callipers and the new Brembo carbon discs? Is it possible and if so would I need to do any modifications or is it just as simple as changing my callipers

You probably can do anything but I'm not sure you'll see the benefit.
There will be more cost effective options such as the E55/63 brakes but still....on an E220?
Will your current wheels fit?

I'm also struggling with why? I'm presuming it's for the looks as Mercedes aren't known for poor brakes - in fact E's brakes are so good they used to get regularly rear-ended as the car behind couldn't stop anything like as fast as the E.

I’m currently doing a project car where I’m turning a E220 into a track car so was curious to know if could be done.

I wonder if they'd give less braking performance in normal conditions than stock... requiring serious heat to be in them before they work... Hammering up to the lights and then standing it on it's nose isn't the best way of driving on the roads...
I’m turning a E220 into a track car for a friend so was curious to know if it could be done.

That's an interesting starting point, not common like a Lotus, Caterham or Clio which are all prevalent. My plumber races a 2CV (with BMW R1200 engine):D

He likes different and thought would turn heads if a 220 se cdi was a track car sort of a wolf in sheep’s clothing method. I figured start with breaks as he will need to stop lol. I know you can adapt to fit amg breaks but he thinks Brembo would be a better option.

Probably cheaper to get a cheap E55 or E63 and buy some E220 badges :)

No, but by the time you’ve upgraded a E220 for track use that won’t be one either...
Maybe so but the shell is still the E220 lol

The shell of an E220 is also the same as an E55 or E63. Fit the plastics from an E220 as well and flog the AMG bodykit
That’s a good point but I’ve already got the E220

No, too much of a compromise car for me
Lol but they are nice cars. I’ve just been looking at one to buy in carbon fibre black lol
