Urgent help needed please. W211 air suspension pump.

Hi guys. I have removed the Webasto airmatic pump so that I can replace the piston ring and rubber seal.

I have removed the pump from the car after disconnecting the black hose from the opaque filter type thing in the photo.

My question is, should the other black hose that is connected to the other side of the filter type thing not be connected to anything???

it is NOT Webasto... (Webasto is fuel powered aux heater unit)

I have a bigger problem now, one of the black plastic pipes has disintegrated and I can't find a replacement part on the internet. I need the car for work next week. :-(

There are a couple of used units with W211 fitment on eBay but being Easter probably wouldn't arrive until Wednesday.
You could fit the new piston ring and seal into this before fitting it.

Bad luck..........things always break when you need them most.

Cheers AMGeed. I saw those on ebay too. Might have to buy one, take the new piston ring and seal out of mine (only just put it in today) and go from there.

In the meantime, I texted Andy Fulton of bagpipingandy.com and he is having a look to see if he has the bits I need. What a top bloke to answer a customers text on a bank holiday saturday. Respect Andy, respect.

Quick update. Andy at Bagpipingandy.com really pulled out the stops and gave a brilliant service last week end. I texted him on easter saturday and he responded. On tuesday he parcelled up the bits I needed and I had them by lunchtime the day after. £11 all in. What a man. I can't recommend him enough. Cheers and thank you Andy.
