Used CLK Cabriolet new owner

Hi, I take delivery of a 2005 CLK280 Elegance Cabriolet on Tuesday and I am keen to learn all I can to get the most enjoyment from it (and the least frustration) I'm based in Somerset, UK.

The M272 engine isn't without it's issues - worth a check on the below website.

However I would say that at >17 years old if it's not had an issue now then it's probably not going to. Mine went over 124K miles today and is running nicely indeed.

Agree, my CLK is the same age and with many short trips. 88K miles the M272 motor is whisper quiet.
I believe around 10% fail, nobody knows the exact amount.

Get a (genuine) wind deflector from eBay etc if you haven't got one.
A must have

Great info thanks. The one i'm buying has the engine number in the problem range and I'm following the advice to check it - only done 52k miles so it might be ok - seems only about 10% may have the problem and as its wear related, lower mileage may help
