V-Class Reverse Camera doesn't come on straight away.

Reverse camera in my 2017 V250 has been working perceftly until a few days ago. I reset settings to try and do something else (can't even remember what now - something simple like trying to delete all radio favourites at once!). Since then here is what is happening:

Note: I DO have the 'engage camera when R gear selected' option checked.

WHen I go into reverse: Rear camera cover opens immediately, screen goes into camera mode but no image is displayed. As soon as I slect drive gear the front camera view shows as normal. As soon as I change back into reverse the rear camera shows as normal.

In other words, to show the reverse camera view I need to go into reverse, then flick into drive, then go back into reverse. Which is a real pain!

Hello and welcome

I’d “uncheck” it the use it then select the option again and see if that works. Next I might even RTFM... or a hard reset on the battery

Thanks Blobcat - Gave that a try (unchecking then rechecking) and still the same. Then tried resseting again on the Car System Settings but no luck. Manual has nothing useful unfortunately! Thanks for help - I think I might need to take in to dealer... Actually you suggest hard reset on battery: Would that mean completely disconnecting batery then reconnecting. Is that safe enough for everything else in car? Thanks again, Stuart
