Today I took the plunge and changed my air suspension to springs on my 1999 V220 CDI. I can now drive without having to worry about the suspension failing. This is a 1 hour job from start to finish and all the original parts (except air bags) are still in situ if ever I wish to go back to air. For less than half the cost of a compressor I now have total peace of mind....OH BLISS....

Hi. Can you give details please where you obtained your parts. Need to convert mine to springs. Got the warning light on all the time and it's looking more like the "A Team" van. :( :( :( :(

I had to change the shocks as the old ones were shocked at 160k
Next job is the front struts as it now shows how worn they are since changing the rear.
Have kept the airbags and everything else is still in situ incase I want to change back......
The only job I have to do is disable the dashboard warning light for the suspension as in is now on all the time.......If anyone knows an easy way to do this could you please post a reply
Cheers

Just to update this thread......

The warning light on the dash for the suspension is a bulb (unlike the warning light for the cold start which is an LED) that can easily be removed from behind the dashboard by undoing the speedo binacle and taking the bulb out.
