Hi All,

I had to call mobilo out yesterday as engine light came on.
Diagnostics revealed misfire on 9 and 10.
So he escorted me to local dealer who have it now for further investigation and will call me tomorrow with their findings.

Fear is it will be coil pack which on these engines is one long pack along each side of the engine. Mobilo tech warned me that coil packs are deep into 4 figures just for the part.

If dealer calls me tomorrow with a prohibitive cost, can I opt to decline the work and drive it the 80 miles home?
What damage will I do if I drive it with one or two cylinders misfiring?

Thanks for any info.

Should be ok as the engine will turn off the injectors to the misfiring cylinders to protect the catalytic converter.

It will run like a bag of rubbish though, I know all too well. Throttle response borders on dangerous so be careful at junctions etc.

Update:

Dealer has confirmed new coil pack needed so I've given them the go ahead.

Easiest solution all round I think.
Thanks for the help all.
