Hi, I've been putting new fuses in for weeks now but today the pump groaned it's last gasp long before we had air at the back and the fuse blew...... it's time to move on.
Ironically my doctor, who has same car as we both have heeps to many children, suggested I get it converted to springs/shocks?
It's 2002 model (floor slots for the seats not holes) but net surfing hasn't found me a conversion kit.... but I found this forum :D
Can anyone tell me what to buy and where to get it?
don't needed it fitted, brother runs small Landrover repair place :)

Many many thanks....... oh, can I assume it will be ok towing the caravan after its 'done' ?

Thank you for the advice but the quote they gave me was for doing the work.
I just want to know what parts I need and/or where I can get them :)
As I explained my brother owns a garage.
Can anyone else offer advice please?

Many thanks, Kevin

Just go back to MB and tell them what you are telling us, you need the parts only.

If they are still being silly, go to another dealer.

Thanks......... to be honest what I really expected from here was for someone to just tell me what parts are needed as I believe there is nothing bespoke, it is standard suspension bits for the model.... but I don't know the parts
Perhaps I need to find a forum more 'help a mate' and less 'flog you parts' dealer oriented

Sadly no one here has done it,,I do not have any info on the conversion.

Incidentally there is no 220 cdi as you say in the title

I think SAM did say MB does a kit. Now who better to get the parts you need from than the guys who made the car.. .. I think a new pump is around £250 ish ...cheapest way to go..

For information on converting the V220 CDI to springs on the rear click this link.

The last page has the part numbers you need to quote at your Mercedes-Benz parts department.

The last pump I bought from M-B was around £800 plus the fitting. Once a new pump is fitted it needs to be hooked up to the computer to set the height. I fitted springs on my V-Class 3 years ago and it was the best thing I ever done

many thanks 47p2 ..... one last question.... the list of parts, is that for a merc before 2002?
Mine is late 2002 with slots in the floor for seats, I believe earlier models had round hole to anchor seats?

As far as I know they all have the same suspension.
Take the list of parts numbers into the Dealership Parts Department and speak with the nice man behind the counter, he will be more than willing to look up and check the numbers and advise you
