Buying or selling? I have seen a couple of excellent examples go at auction for £7K to 8K. Private sellers a bit more and some specialists perhaps £12K.

There are lots of cars with lower mileage on the market, so getting the price over £10k in the current climate might be difficult. Does that help?

it depends on the REAL condition. one man's excellent is another mans resto project. these cars are bought for 2nd cars etc and therefore people like mint ones.

a 280SL from 1983 can range from £1.5k to £12k all on condition.

if its good/average condition, then somewhere in the middle i would say

my SL was in very good overall condition, but i still ripped it to bits and replaced loads of stuff. they hide lots of rot

i'm talking about bodywork rather than mechanical conditon here

it's all down to the buyer eventually

they'll offer you what they think it's worth, you'll sell it for what you'll accept.
I know that sounds simplistic, but it really is like that. if someone who wants it enough comes to look at it, and what you're asking isn't too off-target, they'll buy it.
When i was looking for ours, I set my budget first. then I looked at the cars available. The I had to reset my budget and save some more. Then I looked at the cars available again (months later, having done loads more research), and I found one that wasn't bad, ticked all my boxes, and after a bit of haggling with the seller, came in at less than I had originally set as my limit. I was lucky there were more cars to choose from, and that he wanted shot of it to make roon for something else, so was prepared to be "realistic".
There are a lot of SLs out there, but spring is coming, the weather is getting better, and they'll be easier to shift. As a relatively steady and slow depreciator, you aren't going to have too many "speculative" buyers chasing your car, much more likely to be someone who wants one, and might know a bit about them. Decide what you'd be prepared to let it go for and price it accordingly.Compare with other same vintage, same mileage models and that's your ball park. If you live close enough to one of the specialist dealers, go and have a look at their stock, then adjust your price accordingly.
