Valve Adjustment

Can one adjust the valve clearance on a 1980 107 (with hydraulic valve adjusters)? The car has been in storage and despite an oil change, service and a long run, is still too noisy. Any magic tricks that will help? Or can I adjust manually??

Can't be adjusted in the normal sense, but I'm not clued-up on the effect of long-term storage on hydraulic tappets or whether shims are used in this case. Someone else more knowledgeable will come in I'm sure - maybe even with a remedy 'as is'.

theres a product sold (wynns?) called hydraulic tappet / valve reconditioner just for this job.

try some engine flush?
