Just back from 3 weeks round Europe.
Taking to a German friend he said fuel prices in Germany & Holland change by as much a 5p/ltr during any 24 hour period.
Generally they drop early evening, then rise from about 22.00 hrs into the next day. There was a fuel station just over the road from one of our hotels. Sure enough we saw the price going up & down while we were there. Worth thinking about if you need a tank full.

In Canada they put them up on a Friday and back down on a Tuesday.

I see crude is down at the moment as well  Of course the stocks in the storage tanks were bought when it was high so we can’t benefit from a reduction. Unless it goes up again and the it goes up at the pump straight away...

And of course the price of crude at any given time is unrelated to availability or the cost of extraction. Probably more related to the price of the latest multi million pound Ferrari.

Of the stockbroker.... got to get his commission somehow and buying and selling shares in oil companies and futures is a great way of doing it. Bears no relation to real world at all.
