I have a camper conversion on a 1999 Vario 814 van, it has the air operated parking brake driven by a 24v electric compressor.
Does any one else have a problem with water getting into the air system? Ours got completely full of water when we were in Morocco last winter. The mechanic that fixed it showed me the 'air dryer' cartridge was full as was much of the pipework. One of the gaskets on the compressor has also blown. All this resulted in the system taking up to an hour to come to pressure...
When looking around under the van it seems to me that the air intake for the compressor is located just forward of the rear axle, on the right hand side. This seems to be a pretty stupid place to put it, particularly if you have to ford rivers, as we did. I'm wondering if there is a modification that can be made to relocate the intake to a higher position. Anyone know?
