Can anyone help me, I own a V220 CDi, recently i have noticed then the vechicle will cut out particularly when i drive over ruff surfaces, bumps ect. This happens on smooth roads as well, but not so often. I have noticed it happens usually after i have driven on the motorway for a long period, and then the vechicle becomes sluggish, and shows up warning lights.

Thanks a frustrated capacheee.::confused:

very interesting!! i had a v230 in my workshop with this very fault!! do your electric windows also cease to work when this happens?? bizzarre. anyhow the problem was traced to a bad earth behind the rear nearside trim a bunch of earth wires hanging in the breeze because the bolt holding had rusted through. so much for spanish made mercs!!!

hope this helps
regards ted

I would start the car up, and tap the relays etc with a handle of a screwdriver, you should be able to reproduce the fault.
