Quick, before Number Cruncher turns up, assuming it's a Diesel then just chuck the stuff in and go. No conversion necessary. Make sure it's SVO (new) or if you want to use WVO make sure it's well filtered. You'll have to get a couple of spare fuel filters for the initial period and after that, just enjoy the smell. :D

There'll be a couple of characters along shortly telling you how you'll ruin your engine with this devil's brew that's also responsible for all the other wrongs in the world but I've been running mine on SVO for the last 40k miles without any problems. I did overhaul my injectors, made sure the glow plugs were OK and gave the car a good service beforehand. Since then it's been pure joy watching people trying to work out where the BBQ is. Long may it continue. :)

I don't see why not. Have you asked them where they get it from and how it's made up?

I use it in my 123 300d and 124 e300d. No problems so far apart from seals, which probably would have gone anyway.

I agree with Number Cruncher in so far as these engines were designed to run on diesel and using veg oil won't be good for the engines; however, I have saved enough over the last few years by doing this that I can afford to replace a car if the engine packs up or get it repaired.

If you are using used oil, then don't use neat in the cold weather; mix it with diesel or thin it with something. It will freeze well above 0 degrees and do the pump damage.

I used to mix mine 50:50 with normal diesel & it ran fine with no modifications.

it does reduce power though if you are a hard driver. most people never notice it. i ran waste veg oil based biodiesel in my £50 citroen zx i had for a while and it didnt start as easily as on diesel (even mixed) and i lost about 10 mph on top speed, but other than that it was fine while i could get it! not sure how much different the biodiesel is to using straight veg oil though, and i didnt have the biodiesel available long enough to find out if it damaged anything
