Very odd

After a good few months with no faults flashing up in the 215 ( i did have left rear indicator check lamp ) its suddenly started doing it again but only if i lock / open the car , if i just get in and drive the fault never occurs

Probably a poor contact causing the voltage to drop just enough to trigger the warning if the engine isn't running.
Used to have a warning triggered on my old E430 that only occurred when driving. It turned out that the bulb holder contacts that pressed against the light fitting "back plane" had relaxed over the years. A quick bend to increase their pressure against it when fitted sorted it.

Ah right , its a ruddy annoying little glitch pal , i can ignore it as the actual flash is working properly at least

on the front of my fathers 211, it threw indicator bulb warning - but it was working - then I discovered it gets two bulbs - one is a back up (which is why it was still working - and why it was correct telling me the bulb had popped - as the real one had)

Had the same thing with our W208 brake light, baffled me at the time too.

Thats fair enough BC but the 215 only has 1 rear indicator bulb , the tail lights are twin and i did have a warning for the OSR one but that was cured but cleaning up the circuit board so it earthed properly
