Hi All

Can anyone help with this problem??? Recently changed the drop link on the driverside front on my C180. Went on fine with no problems but since then there has been a very bad squeaky noise coming from the same suspension - sounds like really old bed springs loud too. Funny thing is - it starts about 15-20mins after driving and disappears within 5mins of stopping so can't see/hear where its coming from. Took it back to the garage where the work was done and they couldn't fine anything...Any ideas please?

Do you have xenons? I've just discovered squeaks coming from the level sensor / switch ue to it being corroded!

Silicon and PTFE work quite well on the roll bar bushes

The bush is twisted to excess.

The car should be in it's normal driving position (resting on it's wheels) when tightening suspension bushes.

The bush is then in it's proper working position and the rubber will not tear, and the bush will last for a very long time.

BUT you will have seen how many garages use car lifts that lift the car but leave the wheels and suspension hanging AND they tighten the bishes when in that position - totally wrong !!!!!!!!!!

If they have not got the poroper lift then they should at least raise the suspension with a tall jacking device before tightening the bush.

agree regarding wishbone bushes, but the op only replaced a droplink so not very likely in his case
