Viano 2004 Tiptronic gearbox problems!

:sad: I purchased a Mercedes VIANO 2.2CDI with a Tiptronic Gear Box in June 2004 at 20,000 miles the gearbox failed and was replaced under warranty,now at 39,000 miles it has failed again.
I am obviously very concerned that this is a design fault that will continue to give problems in the future.
Has any member experienced similar problems with either VIANO / VITO or in the saloon cars?

On the first gearbox the seals popped causing a major oil leak and drive was affected and Mercedes decided to changed the gearbox on warranty
On the second gearbox you could not select gears it only drove on auto mode.
Aparently oil has leaked from the gearbox , run down the harness into the control unit. But in addition they say they have found swarf in the box.
