Panels can be removed.
If you start adjusting the door hinges and D hasp you'll be there forever, but I'm not saying that isn't the answer.

The lock is at the rear for the door, you might try giving it a push as it gets to closed.
In there there is a micro switch that can fail. I never found a replacement. I believe new locks are approx £150.

It sounds like your door hasn't reached the contact plates at the fore??
Only clean these plates with gentle abrasive, kitch en surface cleaner for example. The protective coating can be removed if not.
These can be exchanged n/s to o/s and turned upside down. Be sure to tie a retainer on the cables to stop them falling down the pillar.

Hi M80,
Sorry for my slow reply but Illness has interupted my work on the Viano. I have removed the lock at the rear of the door and it seems like new. every thing seems to be working as it should. The microswitch I don't know how to test so I will try the plate on the opposite side (that is working perfectly. I have a Diagnostic tester but when I set it to diagnose it puts a message up that says Fault on circuits 30 and/or 31 so it lacks a 12v feed and Ihave checked all the fuses and relays.. Will get back to you with the result for changing the plates over. Thanks for repling.

Testing the lock is confusing.
There are open, closed and deadlock positions.

I recorded the meter readings in the different states but it's XL and won't attach here.

I've pm'd you with my email, I can send that way.

I've managed to print it via Dropbox. I'll speak to a guy who may be able to make sense of it. Thanks for the help.

I've fixed the problem, but at great cost. Replaced the door-lock, cost £232.80!

The old lock could be useful for diagnostics.
This is a common issue and being able to diagnose and possibly source what may only be a micro switch could save others.
