Hi everyone, i am trying to find out as much possible information about this R129 SL500i have just bought.
It's great to be back in an SL and want to authenticate the model and history and spec from purchase.

It has the words ‘Special Edition’ on the silver door sills and the same writing on the walnut section part ahead of the gear lever. It’s also the blue/greenish pearlescent paintwork.

Any thoughts, knowledge and insights would be very welcome - thank you.

Special Editions wetecall black, had red leather, red soft top and had codec901 in the VIN.

Yours is not one of those but is Designo which is a custom build.

No, the last 3 digits of the VIN are not the paint code. The paint code is 017O. It's noted as Designo Varioclour Painting but this just means custom Designo paint. Can't help with the colour name, sorry
