I think my mind is made up between the SAP v2 and the ViseeO bluetooth adaptor

Can any one confirm if the ViseeO display the numbers in the centre console or head unit.

I do have the MB phone prep kit and a 6233 cradle. My head unit is the standard unit in a 2006 C class (not comand). At the present the numbers do come up in the dash

Has anyone had a bad experience from the ViseeO.

The phone i am looking to use is a Nokia e71

The expert on the Viseeo is Alfie who also owns the website that sells them. He's very honest so if he says it works well, it does.

I can vouch for that. I ordered a ViseeO 2000 for my CLS as I wanted something to work with the iPnone 3G. It was simple pairing and the cradle imported my contact list but I had to reduce it from the 1200 records (synced with my Apple Mac) to 250 records which I usualy have on the older phone. Now all is working in perfect harmony. £219 for the cradle is better than the £300+ from Merc. If at all any criticism, the sound quality was better on my Nokia 6230i cradle but the phone was a dog and I wanted after 2 years to upgrade to something more with it. Recommend the ViseeO

Its odd the way bluetooth works - or rather doesn't. I have the opposite problem with my LR and my XDA. It pairs perfectly and all my contacts flash up on the radio. It dials and answers well too - only it refuses to use the car's speakers or mic.
I simply can't understand what is so hard about bluetooth that they can't get a standard and just stick to it, and why Nokia seem to be able to make it work, yet others struggle. Sure there should be fancy enhancements but basics like audio and phone book exchange should be simple.

I have an Samsung i900 omnia and my Viseeo works fine, takes about 3mins to download the phonebook but I can access the phone book off the display and also displays the number that rings through on the display aswell. Works well I'm very pleased.

I'm using a Blackberry Pearl with the Viseoo unit in my CLS.

Works really well 90% of the time - I have set it to auto-connect so if the phone is in my pocket, then as soon as the COMAND starts up it automatically connects without me having to do anything - brilliant. It will even transfer to hands free kit from using the handset as you get into the car during a call!

The only problem I am having is that sometimes (not always) the phone will ring but not pass this through to the in car system - so the hands free does not know there is an incoming call, even though the phone is ringing. I therefore cannot answer the call which is very annoying. I can make an outgoing call OK, and I know the phone is connected as the signal strength indicator is working (and I have Viseoo in the display).

So a guarded recommendation for the Viseoo - and if anybody knows a cure to the incoming call problem I am having, please let me know!!

Cheers

I have this too on occasion. Everything looks ok but it doesn't seem to work. Driving back last Sunday I tried to call home. Everything looked ok on the Viseeo but when I dialled out it didn't mute the stereo or switch the audio through. My Mrs tried to return my call and I couldn't answer either.
That said, I reset the Viseeo and tried again with no more success. It only worked properly when I rebooted my phone, so I suspect the viseeo isn't at fault here.

I have a question though. When it rings, the Viseeo ringtone is very quiet. My phone doesn't seem to have a handsfree profile and the ring tone isn't the one the phone uses so I am assuming it's using some default setting.
Anyone know how to alter it or make it louder? (I've tried fiddling with the stereo volume control when it's ringing - doesn't seem to have an effect).

I think there is a problem with the software on the Nokias-ie the N series, I had an N73 and the contacts wouldn't download, however the more basic Nokia's download fine, I would have a search about to see if the e series works. I have a Samsung tocca now and this works great:D

Yeah the volume isnt that loud when it rings through but Im not sure if thats the Viseeo or the MB system as the Viseeo mocks it?, I've never tried to increase it though?

What I do love about it is I can increase the volume when you are speaking to as loud as your system goes. You wouldn't get that with a complete after market kit as they are restricted to your phones volume level.

Even still I've never missed a call and it does flash up on the radio "Phone" and if the radio is off the display lights up and says "Phone" again, if the Dash display is on the phone part it comes up with the incoming number, not the name strangley even if its on the phone book.

Great system though wouldn't be with out it. ( car is 2004 C Class)

Funny - mine shows the name! (well most of the time anyway).
I used to have a similar issue with the nokia cradle setup. That turned out to be the fact that I had all the numbers in the phone as well as the sim memories. Cleared the phone memory and it worked. May be something similar on yours.
Mine played up again last night. I made a point of rebooting the phone mid afternoon. The phone rings on the way home, Viseeo is showing it's connected but the call stays on the flippin phone. Damned annoying. Rebooted the phone again and viseeo reconnected, then tried to phone back and the damn thing still didn't work. Restarted viseeo and all was well again. Happens a lot and restarting an XDA isn't a simple task and pretty much impossible to do safely if you're driving.

Wonder if an update of the Viseeo would help? Will try the phone memory though and see if that helps, thx.

I had a similar problem with my N73 and SAP module. I cured it by updating the firmware on the phone using the Nokia updater website. It took ages to update the phone and you have to back up your info but now it works fine, downloads phone book and does everything it should. The SAP is a bit of a pain to pair up but once it's done it works very well. I think there is a series of buttons you press which brings up your firmware version (can't put my finger on them) and you can cross check this with the Nokia website.

Just got delivery of a Viseeo MB-2. Have connected it up to my the Comand unit in my 06 E280. I'm using a Blackberry Pearl - works a dream for making and receiving calls - sound quality is very good (the callers voice through the speakers is a little heavy on bass but that might just be the way I have the stereo set up).

Can't get the phonebook to sync up though... Might try a firmware upgrade but it seems to me that both the car and the BBerry have been out a while...

Anyone else had this problem - or better yet found a solution?

Gonna hurt but I have had a few experiences with the Viseo aftermarket phone bluetooth adapters and have found they dont work, are covered in unuseable buttons to look complicated and worth the money... Merc one is dearer but it works properly when looked after, and there is no getting away from that.

I was looking at the viseeo option till I saw an original MB cradle for my phone on Ebay which I picked up for a snip - perhaps that's an option if they do one for your E71?

I know you lose the flexibility of being able to use different phones, or not having to change the cradle in future when you change the phone. I don't know if you like to change your phone a lot (I don't, but then I have a habit of hanging on to things far too long.....)

I also have Viseeo with Blackberry Pearl - no problems with the phonebook sync at all, although it took quite a while first time around. But I still have problems with incoming calls not transferring to the COMAND unit (i.e. the phone rings rather than COMAND, and I can only answer the call by answering it on the phone - having done that, it comes through the hands free system fine.... ). This is an intermittent problem - sometimes COMAND rings fine and I can answer the call using the steering wheel button - but I would say 50% of the time it doesn't work. If yours is working fine, I'd be interested in comparing software version numbers if you can face the hassle!

Cheers

Jerry
