Hi,
Could anybody point me in the right direction with a problem on my newly purchased 1999 (V) Vito 108 cdi van.
Bought the van with a couple of minor faults, heater fan not working and heater controls inoperative. Fixed the fan by fitting new brushes and had to buy new (s/hand) heater controls, all now working perfectly. Just to make sure all was well with everthing else my son (BMW technician) checked it out on the ramp at work and all that could be found was it needed a little engine oil!.
Oil topped up off I went and noticed right away it wouldn't rev past 3000rpm, something it had not done before? (I had only had it a few days by this time). Could it have somthing to do with topping the oil up? it's not over filled.
It doesn't do it all the time , but does seem to come in when I corner hard or park on a slope?
Anybody got any ideas please?
Thanks !!!!!

You are a handy have a go man, so I would look at the relays etc and clean all of the contacts with a good switch cleaner, not WD40, the fault has got to be something electric I feel.

not sure if this will help, but when you lift your bonnet, on the lefthand side, above the air cleaner housing, there is a small plug/sensor, make sure that's pushed all the way home, i dislodged mine when removing the air cleaner, and couldn't get more than 30mph out of the van, pushed it back in - presto
