 Hi, MBO's, I'm new, so apologies, if I re-iterate previous postings.
I've just bought a Vito Traveliner 108D. S reg.
I'm having trouble changing gears, real difficulty in changing into 3rd- anyone help.
also
Gear stick is very stiff. is this common, or am I just a weaklin....
When I bought the Car, thought that the diesel engine noise, was normal, but someone pointed out, that it shouldn't be making that much noise, anyone any idea what it could be, I thought the noise was normal for a diesel engine - apperently not...

Help would be apprec.

Hi,
our V-Class had gearchange problems from new which were eventually traced to a faulty clutch (MB had the cheek to accuse us of abusing the clutch I suspect it was abused prior to delivery)
You are looking at £1000 for a new clutch if it is faulty.

We had excessive engine noise and poor performance which was due to the ECU picking up some error codes.

We were quite frankly very relieved to be rid of the V class which was 3 years old and 18K on the clock and nust have been back to the dealer 30-40 times for numerous faults.

Thanks Mark999,

I'll get it checked out, from the dealer.
I had it serviced on Sat. and they suspected it could be the Gear Selector or the ROD/PIN for the gear selector.

Vito Traveliner Gear Change Problems

Hi MBO's
Just thought I'd complete this problem, by letting everyone know what the problem was.
The Gear Cables needed replacing. One of them had snapped and the other was on its way out. Very expensive job. Cannot believe the price of the Cables...
I can now splip it into any gear that I need. Marvelous.
