Any advice would be appreciated;
after bad service from local garage (diagnosed as breather pipe falling off!!! ) decided to investigate and try to fix problem myself! injectors were leaking hence loads of smoke had to spend 4 hours chisselling of hard black crust to free injectors. eventually removed them to find one had cracked near base so replaced with new.Replaced all copper washers and cleaned seats and injectors.
Replaced with new clamp bolts after cleaning out threads, tightend to correct torque (very dodgy feeling as bolts are skinny m6 jobs) and guess what ******** still leaks with small amount of diesel smoke; any suggestions as back is starting to give out from being under the bonnet!!
looking at the whole setup it looks like a crap bit of design ie clamp bolts look way too small, to exert enough constant pressure to keep injectors rigid in head.
Is this a common fault with this type of engine?
