Hi,
I am a noob here so go easy. I have read pages and pages on various forums with ref to fitting a set of alloys to my Vito van.
Details: 2004 109 Cdi Compact
However, despite now having more of an understanding of wheel sizes, ratings etc I still have not managed to work out an answer for a few basic questions:
Will a set of 17" aftermarket alloys
  • Fit on the original hubs
  • Require longer bolts
  • need uprated tyres
  • be legal for insurance purposes!!

As I only use the van for private use and not commercial I do not carry a large amount of freight and weight in the back. At most a couple of moto x bikes and some tools (300Kg?). Therefore, do I need commercially rated wheels on a van?
I have a budget of around £500 to replace the four steel wheels with a set of alloys and tyres.
I have looked at these http://www.alloywheels.com/product.asp?P_ID=1483&V_ID=25299&strPageHistory=search&strKeywords=5x112%20et42,5x112%20et45,5x112%20et48,5x112%20et50&numPageStartPosition=4&strSearchCriteria=any&PT_ID=all&Make=Mercedes&Model=Vito%20Class%20W108&strSize=16"&searchSize=16"&strSort=Low
but when I rang for advice I think I got the Saturday boy as they were not very helpful!!:-(
Can anyone recommend a good solution/offer some simple advice as I am going around in circles!! (sorry!)
Thanks in advance.
