Vito gear knob broken

i'm in need of a new gear knob as mine has split in half, and the top has come off, i have the standard rubber gear knob at present, i wouldn't mind putting a wooden or metalic one on in replacement, i've seen several listed on ebay, question is... will it fit onto my Vito? are the gear knobs the same fitting an all mercs? mine is a push-fit, lugs on the gear knob secure into a groove on the gear lever, is this a standard fit?
