I intend to upgrade my 1997 Vito Trend to Ambiente specs. Obviously, the first things to consider are the seats (from 2 & 3-seater rear bench type, to the 2+2 rear individual seats) and the suspensions. I'd go with the seats first, as the change to the Ambiente's air suspensions may prove to be costly.

Anybody out there whom has done something similar previously? Any idea where I can get the Ambiente-spec seats? Any input/suggestions most welcomed. Cheers!

The air suspension is very unreliable, my V-Class had to have 2 new compressors in 2 years (over £700 each if not under warranty)
I think you would be better save this to pay for numerous other faults
that may occur during your ownership.

If the replacement seats are the same as the V-Class they do take up a lot of space and are very heavy (44Kg) so you wouldn't want to be lifting them in and out too often.

Hope your vito is more reliable than the typical V-Class

hi mark, thanks for the warning about the air suspension. and to think that all this while i was envying those driving the v-class!

the reason i'm considering changing the present rear bench-type seats is because they do not recline, which can be a bit tiring for the passengers on long journeys. i suppose the v-class seats recline, besides swivel?

another problem i'm facing is to get bigger wheels (current size is 15")... there is only one alternative (Lorinser D93), besides the 16" wheels that comes standard on the v-class.

i've tried looking for AMG and others, but here in Malaysia nobody stocks for vito. anybody breaking a v-class anywhere...? cheers!

The V230 seats are very expensive to buy and you should check if you have suitable seating location points on the floor of your model. The seats locate into circular holes in the floor and will not mount in any other way.

Hope you achieve your goal and get the wheels you want. Postage is a problem, however, a new set of rims is not cheap so take what you can!

Good luck....
