just bought 108cdi wont rev passed 3000rpm when stationary will when driving but makes a buzzing noise when turbo is kicking in its not a normal turbo noise ive checked all the pipes nothing seams loose please help
When stationary the electronics are designed to limit the vehicle to 3000rpm. this is perfectly normal. To check, rev it to its limit at 3000rpm then quickly depress the clutch and let it back in again, this should allow the vehicle to rev to its maximum at 4100rpm (though there's no need to do this too often, the limit is there for a reason).
As for the turbo noise, does the noise increase as the turbo is "winding up" and then disappear after 2200rpm etc. or when you let your foot off an the valve opens?
ill have a look tomorrow at the pipe already had a quick look but nothing stands out i found out that the engine has rescently been replaced the engine came out off awrite off that had been hit on the drivers side and the air filter had been smashed so im thinking their could be some plastic may be stuck in the turbo thanks for your replys keep them coming just in case thanks culf7667
You have to squeze the pipe to see if there is a split, normally on a bend in it, also look for signs of oil around the pipe as it leaks out when the split opens. Failing that get some one to rev it and look for the pipe expanding.
found a loose clip on the intercooler at the front off the engine noise has stopped but the van seams a bit flat though, but ill have to put up with that, unless anyone has any thoughts, not realy to sure how poky they should be thanks for the replys cheers culf7667
