I have a 2017 Vito with steel wheels, and rubber valves. One of the wheel rims is dented - doesn't leak any air, but will be best swapped for the spare which is full size and looks to have a new tyre on.
I'm not sure how the Vito TPMS system works, as the valves look rubber I'm thinking it may be with the ABS and the wheel rotation, rather than each wheel having a sensor - so basically can anyone advise if 1) do the wheels have sensors fitted ? and 2) will the spare have a sensor in it and if so will it need to be coded .....

Thanks

Can you see the individual tyre pressures in the dash display menus at all?
If not you’ll probably have the speed sensor warning system that doesn’t need special sensors or valves

Yes you can natigate via the central display (between the dials on the dashboard) to Tyre pressures, and it shows an image of the van with the pressure of each wheel...

TPMS come in two types one with rubber valve stems and one with a metal stem (which is actually an elongated collar). Those with metal stems, as sold by MB, are capable of withstanding higher road speeds (over 120mph if memory serves me right) which probably isn't an issue for a Vito.
