Vplate A class 190 Automatic Gearbox Issues

Dear all

We have a much beloved A190 Automatic. It's done a fair few miles and recently has been having issues pulling off.

It tends to shudder whilst accelerating from a dead start on hills and if we accelerate too hard the gearbox flips into fail.

it's almost like it can't get the power down on the road properly and this tends to happen after it's been running for a little while. We've been told by a mercedes specialist that we need to replace the gearbox @ £1200 but I was advised to just check here with my symptoms before making any decisions.

Just had an A210 Evo doing this at the Indie that I work for.
Symptoms were similar to what you've described and was one of the clutches that had broken up. Gearbox was reconditioned for £1800 inc vat. Will try and find MB STIP that explains this and post it. Hope this helps..
