W107 1989 MB TEX Grey Seat Base Replacement

Hi i've just bought an 1989 SL420 with MB Tex grey and cloth seats
, I need to replace the base of the drivers seat as the cloths worn through? any suggestions as to cost effective solutions welcome, not sure if you could buy a new one even from merc?

Try an automotive trimmer, they should be able to repair, MB original covers are expensive, you might want to try Nick @ Euromerc.
