w107 500 sl

I have a problem with my sl when selecting reverse there is a pause the it selects with a jerk,This does not happen when selecting a forward gear.There are no noises at all to accompany this.Any ideas?:

It could be a leaky gasket on the Ks assembly, has the fluid ever been changed in the box

usually associated with mileage and

transmission seals. How far has yours done, and has the tranny ever been refurbed or serviced.
Mine can do it a bit when it's cold and the idle revs are high, at about 1100 on rich mixture. It's fine when warmed up and idling at about 950 in P or N though.
Extra good clamp on the footbrake when shifting is a good idea.

reverse on 500sl

Thanks for advice so far it does idle around 950 will get oil and flter done, only tranny I came across was in boogie st in singapore in 1966 and as for ks are they not connected? Best if I take it into garage her andask for gearbox service? mileage 128000
