Hi there,
Long time since my last post, but wondered if anyone can give me their opinion?
I have had my 1980 W107 350SL for 2 years now and fancy a change of car. I've been looking at second hand newer W129 SL's (1990-2001) on autotrader and the like - mainly SL320's and SL500's.
The idea of a newer (slightly) sportier car with a power hood, ABS, cruise and aircon does sound atractive, but on the flip side I'll have to sacrifice the classy looks of the W107 for the 80's porn star looks of the W129.
From the looks of things, I'm only going to be able to afford a high milage example (around 90,000 miles).
Does anyone have experience of a W129 with such high mileage?
Any major problems with the car?
I've seen the recent post on buying advice but is there a mileage limit at which I should walk away?
Should I sacrifice 'extras' and engine size for a better mileage?
