W107 touch-up resources Ireland (Newbie)

Hi,

My mother has a 1981 280SLC which has 28,000 miles on the clock has sat unused in a garage for 12 yrs. The car is mechanically sound but is running a little rough, plus the electric windows et al. are showing their age (i.e. they work but VERY slowly). The car is also sitting on 14 yr old tyres.
Due to the fact that the car has not been used my mother doesn't have any confidence in the car's reliability and therefore it continues to rot in the garage. I would like to restore the car to an immaculate condition (electrics, mechanicals etc.) so she will start to use it.
Bearing in mind the car is 80-90% perfect I was wondering if anyone knew of any resources I could go to (websites/specialists in Ireland) where I could learn how best to go about this project - I mean how do you go about getting replacment window wipers for a 20 yr old car??

Just a note to say that my electric windows on my 1980 350SL slide up as if being lifted by a team of asthmatic ants, didn't realise before that it wasn't just the MB technology back then, maybe they are just that slow?

Let me know if anyone can make them go faster with original parts!

I assume you have tried to lubricate the sliding parts inside the door? I had some windows that didn´t almost move at all on my -85 380SE (the car hadn´t been used for a couple of years when I got it), and in my case it was the gearbox attatched to the electric motor that had got stuck. Try to lubricate that, if it has old, thick grease in it, it will run slowly.
