Hello all, Im new to this so hope this is the right place to post. Ive recently taken on a 1963 220 seb coupe, pretty nice condition but noisy tappets. I went to adjust and find that all the clearances are much too big but the ball pin nut is too stiff to turn and adjust. Theres a special tool (111.589.00.01) or maybe someone knows a garage that knows these engines?
Thanks for any help

Dear All, we have a manual 220seb couple 1963 and have now sent the engine block for reboring etc. When we split eh engine from the bell housing there was a leak of about 20ml of oil. It could be the crankshaft seal and that will be replaced along with the engine work. But Im worried about the possiblity of its coming from the gearbox. I note there is a seal in the manual so I have one (4 pounds from sl shop!) but even after removing the bearing and plate that it runs on I cant see the old one or how to get to it. Has anyone had this problem and changed the seal?

thanks for looking, Hugh
