Hello Everyone,

I have w114 280CE 1973 M110 engine D jetronic.
When I got the car it would only start and die shortly, I have done following

1.Adjusted Camshafts 0.10m Intake, 0.25 exhaust.
2. Changed to electric ignition, adjusted timing, changed rotor and cap as well as spark-plugs and leads

- After this can would idle for 20-30 minutes with occasional hiccups and sometimes it felt that it was about to die.

I decided to do an oil change as it seemed to be a bit low, during an oil change very little oil came out, I put in around 5 litres of 20/50 classic car oil (from halfords)
as soon as I started car it would not idle and die... the cold start is good, as soon as the RPMs drop it dies, if you hold gas pedal it would stay running..

I decided to check fuel pressure and do general tests on the car I have completed following

1.Cylinder compression - fantastic, 135-143 PSI on all cylinders,
2.Map Sensor - electrically all good
3. checked injectors by touching them with a long screwdriver - seem to be vibrating
4. Fuel pressure - 1.9 bar which is low, at least it should be 2.2. I tried to adjust fuel pressure from regulator but it is unresponsive.

If you guys have any suggestions as how to check fuel pump or any additional things to check please let me know

Change the fuel filter, then check if you can hear the fuel pump. You can use the long screw driver method to hear it.
