- W117 CLA 2017 Petrol 1.6
Hi,
New here so let me know if I need to provide any extra details.
I recently bought a Petrol CLA 180 with an autobox, it's my first Mercedes and my first automatic so I don't have much reference to go off, but a few weeks ago I was accelerating quite harsh onto the motorway and the car seemed to get stuck in 4th gear and then go into limp mode with a generic P0087 "Fuel Rail/System Pressure Too Low" code.
I pulled over and restarted the car and then it was fine, but I could immediately tell the gear changes were no longer smooth. The same thing happened a week later and it went into limp mode again with the exact same circumstances. I took it to a mercedes specialist garage and they said it had no codes showing a problem in the transmission and recommended a transmission service since the service history said it hadn't had one done (It has 55k miles on it). So I took it back to my dealer and they were refusing to do anything because they couldn't get it to fault and show the code again, but then eventually they agreed to do the transmission service (I'm not sure they even did it, but I'm not sure how I can tell)
Even after the transmission service the the gear changes still feel really jerky, especially when taking my foot off the accelerator, it feels like it's doing a lot of engine breaking and then the car jerks as it downshifts. The dealership told me this is normal for a Mercedes, but I swear it wasn't like this before the limp mode fault. At this point I feel like I'm going insane and I'm debating going to test drive another CLA to see if it feels the same.
Any advice?
Cheers,
James
