Does anyone know if the W123 came in a 300D estate version? if so, was this offered in the UK? In fact does anyone have one, or know where one could be found? If they exist, what is the right price to pay for a good condition one.
thanks

The certainly do exist, badged as 300TD, the T standing for touring (NOT turbo!).

Good ones are quite thin on the ground as many were ran into the ground used as disposable builders' vans.

It's hard to price up specific classics (I would definitely put the w123 down as a classic) like this, it's very subjective; but I'd say you'd be looking at a grand - 1500 for a decent one, and a couple of few grand for a minter!

Keep an eye on t'ebay, they come up once in a while.

Incidentally, I'm selling my w123 300D saloon, do you really need an estate? :)

You won't find a newer one than that!

Go and have yourself a look at it if you're near.

PS. Be wary of chrome arch trims, have they been fitted to hide anything?:???:

I wanted to buy this one, it even has air con (how rare is that on an diesel W123) - however, my wife thinks that it is too old.

In my opinion the W123 estate is one of the most elegant estate cars every produced - definately a classic.

It is certainly not too old, I ran mine as an everyday car for six months and would have indefinately had I not found my bargain w124 E300D. They may be old but they are so well made that they still make perfectly reliable and usable cars.

Tell her it's not old, it's a classic! :D
