Hi Lads and Lasses, My loyal `85 Limo has lost 3rd and 4th gears. she`s done 432,000 miles so I suppose minor running expenses should be expected now.
I thought obtaining a replacement would be quite easy however, I`ve been told that this autobox is peculiar to the 300 Diesel, and as such I`m not having much luck finding one. Can anyone please tell me if there is any major reason why they are not interchangable with petrol ones, since no one has told me why it won`t fit. Secondly does anyone have one for sale?
I`ve tried the popular s/h suppliers and Mercedes breakers but I`m struggling now. The recon quotes seem to start around £1100, and offer doubtful guarantees at the end.
