Hi all,

The headlamp wipers on my w123 have stopped functioning. The wash function still works though. Both wipers have stopped working at the same time so I don't think it's the motors - I'm assuming it may be a relay and if so will I find it behind the instrument cluster?

Thanks for any advice.

Levi :)

You have a control unit

A 126 820 20 26 CONTROL UNIT
HEADLAMP WIPER/WASHER

number 89 in the picture in the fuse box up front

Thanks Malcolm

Mines a W123 and there are only fuses in the fusebox. Will there still be a control unit somewhere?

Thanks

I've traced the wires and they lead to a black plastic cover which pops off to reveal a large mounting bracket with a single, lonely little relay on it.

This relay has 001 542 02 19 stamped on it. Just one digit difference Malcolm - could it be the same one or similar for a different year?

Thanks

Levi :)

This will have just been an update but it is the same part, but do be sure that the relay is at fault if you can

Brilliant - thanks very much Malcolm.

I'll get around to investigating properly when the weather is a bit more stable and I'll report my findings.

cheers :D
