I just bought my 230E 1991.
Reading the owner manual I found out that I can close both front electric window when I am locking the driver door by keeping the door key in the lock position for couple a second.
My electric sunroof should close as well with the front window if is tilt open, but every time I am using this brilliant feature my sunroof tilt open (if is shut) or stay open (if opened).
The system work perfect with my front window but it works the opposite way with my sunroof.
Any help how to solve this problem will be appreciated.
Thank you,

Sounds like your sunroof switch/motor might be wired up incorrectly.

What happens when you slide the sunroof switch forwards, does the roof tilt once it closes or do you have to tilt the switch to get it to tilt the roof?

Hi Spike
Thank you for your reply.
The sunroof work fine by the switch (I think).
If the sunroof is shut:
1)I slide the switch back ( the sunroof slide open)
2)I slide the switch forward (the sunroof tilt open)
If sunroof is slide Open:
1)I slide the switch forward (the sunroof shut)
if I keep the switch forward (the sunroof tilt open)
If sunroof is tilt open:
1)I slide the switch back (the sunroof shut)
if I keep the switch back (the sunroof slide open)

As I mentioned before my problem is when using the door lock to close front windows the sunroof tilt open (if is shut) or stay open (if is open).

I think your wiring is definately wrong. On mine, you cannot tilt the sunroof unless you *tilt* the switch.

Because yours appears to be wired up incorrectly, this is the reason for its odd behavior when using the comfort locking feature.

Basically locking the doors has the effect of sliding the switch forward thus opening your tilt. On mine, if I slide the switch forward, it just shuts the roof.

Hi Spike
Thanks again for your reply.
My mercedes manual showing 3 position (forward ? middle ? back).
I got no tilt position on my switch.
What surprise me is when I close the sunroof (from slide open position) if I don?t release the switch it will not stop at shut position it will tilt open the sunroof.
The same thing happen if I close the sunroof (from tilt open position) if I don?t release the switch it will not stop at shut position it will slide open.
Could it be a faulty relay or the switch it self.
But definitely in the manual no mentioning about tilting the switch.
What year is your 230
I really appreciate your help
Thank you,

Hi Spike
I had another look today and you are absolutely correct my switch do have 4 position.
The tilt position open ok but doesn?t close (I can hear the motor functioning), I have to use the slide close position to tilt close the sunroof.
If I slide (without tilting the switch)the sunroof to shut from open position, the sunroof shut and then go to tilt open position.
I found someone with similar problem on the forum (http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/viewtopic.php?t=4547&highlight=sunroof)
Andy Gayle recommends taking it to Mercedes dealer as motor requires resynchronising.
Thanks for your help.
