hi
love these cars
are they massively expensive to run(ie compared to a 107 500sl)?
has anyone seen the one on ebay (10k or offers)?

Good engine, just make sure you look at all the cars available, even go and waste someones time looking at the best of the best to get a good idea what your looking at. Never buy the first car you see and if possible get someone involved that really knows these cars, buy a pup and you will regret it.

Also keep the dosh ready as classic and interesting mercs are starting to drop in price!!!!

GFP, i'm fast turning into the grumpiest old man imaginable, and you telling me things like that isn't helping.

Thats just what the 124 coupe needs, and it could take a much higher ratio diff too, which IMO it sorely needed. I'm going to dream about that tonight.

They didnt do the 124 in RHD with the V8 because the steering box got in the way.

I'd have thought they could have got round that problem Jib, i assume the V8 sits symetrical, any odds and sods could have been rerouted surely.

They went to all the trouble of fitting a wiring loom that lasted 5 minutes, could have spent that time much more wisely giving us the coupe to die for.

You're right GFP, it is an AMG produced car.

And your right about something else too GFP.

I am now incredibly grumpy, thanks a bundle.

That is probably one of the best Q cars i've ever seen, and very tasteful too. Couldn't you have some fun with that debadged...
Not too sure about the seat inserts, but i do like the ebony wood finish.

I hope you find the pictures of the coupe, please post them.

thats a 5.0 Never heard of the V12 in a W124 and wouldnt think it would fit. V12 only just fits in the W140.

AFAIK, a "Munich Hammer" was a 300E with the I6 ripped out by AMG and replaced with a 5.0 V8 and later 5.4(?) V8.

In those days AMG didn't upgrade the brakes apparently. Lethal.

[edit]

The 500E was developed by MB with Porsche.

And IIRC, Brabus do a 6.5l take on the 500E as well.
