Hi
I have noticed that the automatic aerial on my W124 cabriolet doesnt work. When the ignition is on or the engine started the aerial should automatically raise and go down when turning the engine off.
I checked the fuse and replaced but still no luck. Does anyone have any advise they could give me.....v frustrating as cant get a radio reception !

Thanks

Campbell

A wire runs from the radio "auto ant" terminal to the antenna, the other wire of the antenna goes to body earth/frame, check for 12v in the boot at the antenna when the radio is switched on. the fault could be within the radio, its wiring or antenna.

Does the motor run? Most likely the mast has jammed and the motor's stalled or burnt out

There are three (or four) wires to the aerial; ground, permanent live and switched live
