Having just read a thread about cabin filter on a W210 I was wondering if my car (W124 300D with Diavia Air Con) had one of those fitted. If so, where does it live?

Thanks Malcolm, is that under the dash or in the engine bay? I can't get the hang of that site, no matter how often I try.

It's directly under the jump wiper. You have to remove all the trim at the foot of the screen, then the wiper assembly, and it is the accessible

The filters are two in a pack and both sit side by side.

I changed one for a chap earlier this year and I did not have to remove wiper or anything drastic like that - mine was a post lift model.

I do not have them in mine as there is no air con BUT I could easily fit a filter retrospectively if I wanted to.

I know, only 4 screws and there done, but never seen them on retro fit a/c. All the retro fit a/c's heater boxes are built and then fitted to car, that a problem when you want to change the fan unit, you have to remove the heater box to do it as you cannot get to it from under the bonnet. :(
