w124 coupe 220 rear window has permanent mist

my rear window on my coupe has stopped working and the heated elements have started to rust which has then left condensation stained on the inside of the glass. I have tried to clean it off but looks like i might have to replace, what would be my best option?

The coupe rear window is laminated. moisture gets in to both ends as the expansion rates are not the same for the inner and outer. All you can do is to replace it.

What some have done when the misty patches are only a couple of inches in, is to spray the glass black, best done with an airbrush as you can feather the edges and it looks normal.
