W124 coupe Jerking at 4000rpm

Hi guys,

W124 coupe (300Ce) Jerks like a ********* after 4000rpm. I had a quick check and found the air sensor was burnt, I've changed it but it's still crazy after 4000rpm like its about to explode. Has anyone ever experienced this? Remedies?

Any thoughts would be welcomed.

Sounds as if it is hitting the rev limiter in the "limp home" type situation.

but I am not sure which engine you have ie 103 (3 litre single cam) OR 104 (3 litre twin cam).

Is it a 24 valve ?

Which engine is it ?
