Driver seat belt presents but does not retract. Push it back and switch on, again presents ok but again stays out. Passenger side OK, door switch OK, Interior light OK and windows OK.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks

Mike

Possibly the cogs have worn on the end of the retractor, it winds all the way out and then cant catch on the return. do you here the motor turning when it should be coming back in.

they are quite a simple system to inspect, remove the rear seats and then the side panel. Its all visible there after, the plastic or nylon cogs can break if stressed but generally the system is quite robust, a new mechanism and motor will be costly.

If local to me Cambs you can always pop it over.

Thanks Jib,

What confuses me is that the motor works on push but no sound on pull.(no sound of slipping cogs.) Thanks for diagram and offer but Merseyside a bit too far to 'pop' over. Could it be the relay (though I don't think it operates just the one seatbelt) or the switch/contact on the seatbelt clip which I assume acts as an earth or am I talking through my hat?

Thanks Jib, will investigate. Why do these failures invariably occur at his time of the year?
